Road Safety at Work – New Program Director is announced

Justice Institute of BC (JIBC) announces that as of April 23, 2019, Louise Yako is the new Program Director, Road Safety At Work.

Louise has extensive leadership experience in the transportation and safety sector which will be a tremendous asset to the Road Safety At Work program. Most recently, Louise was President and CEO of the BC Trucking Association, a non-partisan, non-profit advocacy organization representing about 1200 companies in BC. Her experience in industry-government initiatives has involved a variety of subjects ranging from public safety to human resources to the environment.

Louise has also served as a Board member for a number of organizations including WorkSafeBC, the Greater Vancouver Gateway Council, the Asia-Pacific Gateway Skills Table and the Canadian Trucking Alliance. Louise has a Combined Honours Bachelor of Journalism with Political Science from Carleton University and an MBA from UBC.
